DEALER GUIDE

How Customer View protects unrelated dealership records

Customers often fill in details or sign on the dealership’s screen. Customer View lets them do that without seeing anyone else’s records.

The risk of sharing a screen

Turning the monitor or handing a tablet to a customer is common: they check their details, fill in a form, or sign. On a normal staff screen, one tap away are other customers’ names, balances, Social Security numbers, and the dealership’s finances.

What Customer View does

Before handing over the display, staff choose one customer and, if needed, one document packet. Customer View then shows only that.

  • Owner navigation, search, and financial screens are hidden
  • Social Security numbers and every other customer’s records are hidden
  • Draft intake is limited to fields the owner has approved
  • Every document in the packet must be opened before Adopt and Sign
  • A separate signature group is used when a template requires one

Getting the screen back

Leaving Customer View requires the Owner Vault PIN. A customer can’t step out of it into the rest of the system, even if the staff member walks away.

Good habits that still matter

  • Start Customer View before turning the screen around, not after
  • Stay nearby while the customer is using it
  • Exit with the Vault PIN as soon as they are done
  • Keep the Vault PIN private and different from any backup passphrase
